5:30 pm – Built Environment Committee
PUBLIC HEARING - The Seattle City Council decides annually whether to amend the City’s Comprehensive Plan in response to amendments that are proposed by members of the public, organizations, City departments, and others. In mid-2009, amendments were proposed and many were put forward for further study. The Council is holding this public hearing to hear feedback about whether to adopt any of the proposed amendments in March, 2010.
Tuesday, 2/9
2 p.m. – Seattle Public Utilities & Neighborhoods
The Committee will receive an in-depth briefing on the draft North Rainier Neighborhood Plan Update on Tuesday, February 9th. The Committee will review the draft plan for the Othello neighborhood on February 23rd and the draft plan for the North Beacon Hill neighborhood on March 9th.
Wednesday, 2/10
2 p.m. – Housing, Human Services, Health & Culture
Join the City Council, Yesler Terrace residents, and Seattle Housing Authority for a review and discussion of the proposed Yesler Terrace Redevelopment.
Hear about the proposed Rental Housing Production and Acquisition and Opportunity Fund Policies in the Office of Housing 2009 Levy Administrative and Financial (A&F) Plan

Civilian War Commission
During World War II, the Civilian War Commission coordinated Seattle's civil defense activities. Established by ordinance in October 1941 - before Pearl Harbor - it was originally called the Municipal Defense Commission, but changed its name in May 1942 to reflect the country's state of war.
