OPARB Related Legislation

Ordinance #122127 relating to the Office of Professional Accountability (OPA) Review Board; increasing the number of terms each OPA Review Board (OPARB) member may serve from two to three; and amending Seattle Municipal Code Section 3.28.905 accordingly.

Ordinance #122744 relating to the Office of Professional Accountability, Office of Professional Accountability Auditor and Office of Professional Accountability Review Board; amending Seattle Municipal Code Chapter 3.28 Subchapters VII, VIII and IX; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.

Council Bill #116343 amending SMC 4.04.120 to add an expectation that the Seattle City Council and the Office of Professional Accountability Review Board will jointly host a public hearing on police accountability at least ninety days before the City begins collective bargaining on a new contract with the Seattle Police Officer's Guild or the Seattle Police Management Association or their successor labor organizations.

Ordinance #122126 relates to Office of Professional Accountability (OPA) records reviewed by the Office of Professional Accountability Review Board (OPA Review Board); providing that the OPA Review Board will have access to unredacted OPA files; setting forth the OPA Review Board's confidentiality requirements and provisions concerning indemnity; and amending Seattle Municipal Code Section 3.28.920 accordingly. Ordinance #122127 relates to the Office of Professional Accountability (OPA) Review Board; increasing the number of terms each OPA Review Board (OPARB) member may serve from two to three; and amending Seattle Municipal Code Section 3.28.905 accordingly. Date passed: May 30, 2006

Ordinance #119825 relates to the Police Department, abolishing the position of the Internal Investigations Auditor and replacing the Internal Investigations Auditor with an Office of Professional Accountability Review Board, and amending the Seattle Municipal code Chapter 3.28 including Sections 32.28.600, 3.28.620, 3.28.630, 3.28.640, 3.28.650 and SMC 3.28.660.
