Library

Welcome to our virtual library. We have collected links to all the online documents that the City of Seattle has that relate to disasters and hazards. We have also included links to some of the most important external links we use.

Maps
Maps are part of everything we do to confront disasters. This section collects all the major maps we have produced. Highlights include maps from past incident like the Nisqually Earthquake and hazard maps that show which areas are more likely to be affected by hazards.

Plans and Reports
Find the City of Seattle Emergency Operations Plan here. This plan lays out the framework for how the City responds to major disasters. This section also contains the City's Hazard Identification and Vulnerability Analysis and event after-action reports.

Personal Preparedness
Our most popular publications are the ones that teach people how to prepare for disasters. We have conveniently put links to all these files in one place. We hope you will read the "How Do I...?" section and learn more about the SNAP program, too.

Institutional Preparedness
Look here for publications and guides aimed at businesses and organizations. It includes the Project Impact sponsored School Non-Sturctural Mitigation Guide.

Foreign Language Material
We have excerpted a Family Disaster Supply Kit from the Family Emergency Preparedness Plan published by the Washington State Emergency Management Division and Group Health Cooperative.

Resource Numbers
This page has many of the important emergency numbers for the City of Seattle and partner governments and other organizations. Some of these organizations also run websites. It is often easier to check a website if you have access to a computer and just need information.

External Links
Here are a few of our favorite sites outside the City of Seattle Network. We use them in our operations to do research, get critical updates during events and share information with other organizations.
