Built Smart Users Manual: Specifications Chapter 9:
Optional Efficient Elevators
Built Smart Users Manual | Specifications | Alerts | Water

The BUILT SMART Program offers incentives for the installation of energy efficient elevators. To qualify, elevators shall be alternating current (AC) gearless systems with synchronous permanent-magnet motors. The motor and bedplate structures of these elevators are an integral part of the hoisting device. Eligible buildings must be seven stories or less.

The BUILT SMART incentive will be based on this formula:
Elevator horsepower x 800 kWh (saving per horsepower) x $0.23 per kWh saved.
