Power Content
Seattle City Light is using its share of the Stateline Wind Project in Eastern Washington and Oregon to meet Green Up program demand. The Stateline Wind Project is owned by FPL Energy, the largest U.S. generator of wind power with 53 wind farms in 16 states. The project began generating electricity in December 2001 and qualifies as a "new"1 source of renewable energy. The electricity is marketed through PPM Energy. Net program revenues are invested in additional renewable energy resources in the Northwest. To date, the Green Up program has supported three smaller-scale projects - the Tillamook Dairy Biogas Generator in Oregon, the Puyallup Energy Recovery Company's Landfill Gas Project in Washington, and the Birch Power Company's Small Hydro Project in Idaho.
When you purchase green power through the Green Up program, the percentage of wind power in your power supply is increased by the amount of green power you sign up for. Further Product Content Label and Fuel Mix information is provided below.

Residential customers may choose 25%, 50% or 100% wind power options, based on a typical residential customer using 9,600 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year. Commercial customers may purchase green power in any amount. |

Sample Fuel Mix with 25% Green Up
When a customer purchases new green power through the Green Up program, wind power from Stateline replaces an equivalent amount of electricity from City Light's current fuel mix. In the sample table below, each generation type has been proportionately reduced by the green up percentage.
