Cleanup: University District Community
Date of Cleanup: April 21, 2007
On Saturday, April 21, 2007, in recognition
of Earth Day 07, Clean & Green Seattle led more forty-five (45) volunteers
as they “greened” the University District’s University Avenue.
Participants from Pacific Market Volunteers (PMI) (Aladdin- Stanley),
University Prep, and Greater University Chamber of Commerce spread mulch,
planted trees and native plants along the main thoroughfare of the University
District. The Department of Neighborhoods, Seattle Parks and Recreation,
Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Police Department, the Department
of Corrections and Seattle Public Utilities also assisted in the effort.

Cleanup Activities:
- Placed about 4,845 annual plant on the Ave
- covered the pits with approximately 10 yards of bark mulch
