Benaroya Hall

general info | photo gallery | map & directions

Benaroya Hall is Seattle's premiere concert hall and the downtown home of the Seattle Symphony. With an auditorium, recital hall, grand lobby and meeting rooms, Benaroya Hall hosts not only hundreds of musical concerts each year, but also company meetings, lectures, fundraising auctions, weddings and receptions.

Benaroya Hall was built and opened in 1998. It occupies the entire downtown Seattle block bordered by 2nd and 3rd Avenues, and University and Union Streets. The public entrance is on 3rd Avenue. Major artworks on display in and around the Hall include pieces at artists Robert Rauschenberg, Dale Chihuly, Mark di Suvero and Doris Chase. There is a terraced garden that functions as a public space along the south and west sides of the Hall.

Seattle Symphony offers more than 20 concert subscription series each year, including the popular Visiting Orchestra series. It also offers the Soundbridge Seattle Music Discovery Center, a dedicated learning center with hands-on interactive exhibits, orchestral instruments, and a workshop/performance space.
